After gaining a balance from the equation =D6-E6 there are brackets
surrounding the answer. Instead of brackets, when the value has saved money
is it possible for  there to be a "+" sign, and when the value has lost money
is it possible to have a "-" sign?  How is this possible?

Create a custom number format like so:

       +General;-General

This isn't really an appropriate forum to be asking about Excel formulas
and number formatting; it's for questions about Excel charts. Depending
on how you're reading this, there several nearby groups than can help
you more fully.
