Trying to create a pivot table... using the pivot table wizard but it
comes up empty when done. There are no categories to drag. I've
uninstalled and reinstalled the entire Office suite and it makes no
difference.  Any ideas?

Hi,

It's normal that the pivot table is empty at first. You have to
select the fields that you want and place them in the different zones
(data, row, column, page) of the table. You'll find an example on how
to create and use a pivot table on this page
http://www.youlearnexcel.com/pivot.htm .

Hope this helps

Pat

Thanks Pat, but thats not it. ive been using the pivot table function
for some time. Yesterday, I downloaded a new sw program as an 'add-in'
in excel and the pivot table and paste functions no longer work. i
think it have something to do with the macro Ive downloaded. If anyone
else has a idea, please feel free to post.....I'm still stuck with
pivot tables.
Regards
-Tim
