For some reason I am unable to paste text into a chart text box,
(with excel 2007).

Is there a trick to this?

Five minutes with Excel 2007 show that there is no obvious way to paste
copied text into the embedded text box. Aren't you glad you upgraded?

I could only paste text in to a textbox if I copy the text from another
textbox.

If I copied a cell containing the new text pasting resulted in a new
series being added. Regardless of how I tried to select the textbox to
give it focus.

If I copied the text in a cell from the formula bar the Paste feature
was disabled when I selected the textbox.

All a bit hit and miss :(

Cheers
Andy

I'm disappointed in you guys, the solution is really straightforward.

1. don't uninstall 2003 when you install 2007
2. Create a textbox with some text in your 2007 file.
3. Create a dummy chart in 2003 Excel
4. Create a textbox in 2003 and paste the text there
5. Save the dummy 2003 file
6. Open the dummy file in 2007
7. Copy and paste the text from the dummy textbox.

Now, if I only could record a macro in 2007, I could automate this.

Actually, I just discovered that you can simplify the whole process by
creating the textbox in Word.
Even Word 2007

But it isn't as much fun.

I copied text from Notepad, and it worked.
