How can I had text inside a bar chart without adding a text box and having to move it around whenever the charts change? Try this: http://processtrends.com/pg_charts_trend_with_events.htm The example given is a scatter chart, but you can combine a scatter series with a bar series with a bit of adjustment for the scales. Thanks for the response. A better description might change the answer. I have vertical bars with labels at the top. That I need to keep the way it is. What I'm hoping to do is to add text (vertically) so that it appears within the bar itself. Regards, Randy > You can add data labels to a series of points, or a data label to a single > point. Add a line chart series with the original column chart data, and apply labels to this series (position above the points) and hide the series (no lines, no markers).
