xl 2007 bug?

Hello,
Does anyone know if this is a "known feature" of Excel 2007:
I have selected a data arera of, say, 18 columns.
My chart obediently displays all the data.
When I separate the data into 2 series and add a 2nd value axis the
following happens: The chart drops the last two data points of the data!

Am I
-missing a new setting,
-fighting in vain against a bug or
-missing something?

What type of chart?
You have 18 columns, how many rows, where are your X values or labels, are
you plotting by row or column?
How are you splitting this into two series?

Line chart
18 data points
2 of them moved to a new row=new series
3 rows (2 series + 1 category axis)

Here's what I did. I put 18 labels in A1:R1 and 18 values in A2:R2. I made a
line chart, no problem.

I dragged cells Q2:R2 down a row to Q3:R3. Naturally they fell off of the
chart (though the chart still had 18 points). I used A3:R3 as the Y values
for a second series, and the last two points showed up right where they had
been at the end of the other series. Changing this series to the secondary
axis did not affect whether the points appeared or not.

What did you do differently?

Hi,

Based on your response to Jon's question I'm not sure what you mean when you
say "when I separate the data into two series"? from you response to Jon/s
question it sounds line you have three rows of data feeding your chart, one
with category info and two for series. So when you say separate the data
what exactly do you mean?

I created a line chart in 2007 with titles in A1:S1 and one series in A2:S2
and the second in A3:S3. After plotting it, I selected one of the series and
choose Format, Format Selection, and under Series Options chose Secondary
Axis. Everything is just fine.

Based on your description I can't duplicate the problem.

My own error;
The selection for categories was wrong and therefore the last two data
points didn't show...
