Excel Gurus source data option grayed out

All excel gurus

I created a chart and when i'm trying to modify it by right click on
the chart Source Data option is grayed out not visible. Is any one
knows how resolve this issue.

Is is possible that your sheet is protected? From the menu, Tools |
Protection | Unprotect sheet.

I can replicate your issue if I have a chart on its own sheet and protect
that sheet using the Objects option but not the Contents option.
