The ends of my y-axis labels are always cut off when I am making a graph in
either Excel or PowerPoint.  I usually add an extra period at the end of my
label just to get the entire label I want to appear, but often it results in
half of the extra period being displayed also, which is not what I want
either.  Has anyone else had similar problems.  If you know how to fix this
problem I would appreciate your expertise.

thanks

Unfortunately that behavior is somewhat common.  One suggestion is to
eliminate the chart generated labels and replace them with text boxes.  You
can quickly create a textbox by choosing an area of your chart and then
typing.  When you've completed typing what you what to appear in the text
box, hit the Enter key.  You can then position the text box within the chart
by using the textbox handles.
