Dear Whoever,

I have a multi sheet workbook in Excel 97 which is just
over 1.4mb in size. One of the sheets is already 2738
lines long and I want to insert a further 760 lines of
similar data.

However, particularly when I try to save, it keeps
crashing with the "Excel has caused and illegal operation'
error message and displaying the following details:

EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in
module MSO97.DLL at 0167:306c2669.

Free beer for life for anyone who can help me solve this
one.

Hi NeilFarrow,

Seems like this file is corrupt somehow.

I would :

- make a backup copy
- delete sheets one at the time until it starts behaving
- try to save-as the offending sheet to some older format, like Lotus
WK1
- Open a fresh empty workbook, copy the sheets that did work OK into
that, read the exported (single sheet-) file back in and copy its sheet
back into your workbook.

Thanks.  hda already tried all that, though. Got it
working but only after installing Excel 2000.

Thanks again though.
