EXCEL.EXE ERROR (EXCEL 97)

WHEN I GO TO THE TOOLS MENU AND GO TO OPTIONS I
GET "EXCEL.EXE HAS GENERATED ERRORS AND WILL BE CLOSED BY
WINDOWS".  WORKBOOK THEN CLOSES.  EVERYTHING ELSE SEEMS TO
BE NORMAL.

If this is Excel 97 then there is detail in the knowledgebase at

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;108032&Product=xlw

It means an upgrade to SR2
