Excel 2002
Windows XP
Excel hangs when opening a file. The excel program opens
however the file content does not come up. I have found a
workaround but no real solution as this problem persist.
currently to resolve this issue temporarily I delete the
following folder and log out of XP.
C:\Documents and Settings\"users id"\Application
Data\Microsoft\Excel
I have done all the updates and have reinstalled Office
XP and still unable to resolve this issue perminately.

Try searching for a file called Excel.xlb and rename it. Excel will create a
new one if it cannot find it. (The file may be hidden, so search these too).
It is Excel's toolbar customisation file so you will lose any customisations
