Edited an Excel 97 worksheet that was sent to me.  Saved
the worksheet yesterday.  Thought I saved to desktop.
Today, unable to locate file.  In search mode, I found in
WINNT the unedited version that was saved with
extension ".xlb."  This worksheet opens with a toolbar
that is partially operable.  Same for toolbars.  No
gridlines, cells, data .... only a gray workspace.  Any
ideas?

Debbie

*.xlb is not a workbook it's a toolbar customisation file, hence the
partially operable toolbars.

Not sure why it has the same name as your workbook, unless the workbook was
called your login name, as that should be the name of that file (*.xlb) or
Excel.xlb
