my file name is w9.xls - after I open it, it changes to w9:2.xls. Why does it

Hi GK,

It means you have multiple windows open that are displaying the same
workbook and the second window is the one currently active. There are two X
close buttons in the upper right corner of your Excel screen. Click the
lower one to close the extra window. You should now see just your workbook
name in the caption. Save your workbook and the problem should be solved.
