I have two columns of numbers and I want to chart column A  (x axis) against
column B (y axis). The chart function keeps putting both sets of data on the
one (x) axis and the office assistant is giving me the runaround. I expect
that this is probably a basic default problem but I'm new to this and my
brain is refusing to go any further. Please help.

Hi Chrys,

Make sure the numbers in columns A and B are the only thing you have
selected, then click the Chart Wizard toolbar button and select the XY
(Scatter) chart type. Follow the wizard from there and you should get what
you're looking for.
