I have Office XP professional, all updates are current.
After finishing a mail merge document on my Word program, I now cannot open
my workbook in Excel.  I receive the error message "file format is not
valid."  I have gone back into Word and it can still read all the data.
How do I open my Excel?

Did you open and save the Excel document within Word? This will
render it unreadable by Excel.

I'm not sure, somtine the fingers work faster than the brain.  It still shows
up in it's folder as an excel doc.  Is there any way to read or restor it?
