I have tried to refresh a pivot table retrieving data from a large database
and get the following error:

"There are too many records to complete this operation."

There were no problems refreshing when I first created the pivot table and
it is only using 16,000 rows.  I have also tried limiting the information
being retrieved and it still produces this error.

Not sure what to do now.  Thanks for any input.

Hi Steve,

1. What version of Excel are you using?
2. How many rows of data in the data source?
3. Is the data source External or are you bringing the data into Excel and
then making a pivot table out of it.

Cheers,
Shane
