I'm trying to resize all of the columns on a spreadsheet that I have created
and a portion of them will not resize.  When I attempt to resize them
(through mouse drag or format, column width, I get an error message saying
"cannot shift objects off sheet".  Does anyone have any idea how to get
around this or why this is happening?

I have experienced it when you have hidden all the unused columns, and have
an object such as an image right up against the edges of the visable columns.
You will get this message because the image can't shift beyond those visable
cells.

If this is the case, try moving the image or removing the image...

I too have the same error message, but do not understand what needs to be
done. I have applied Outline level 1 to groups of rows, to summarise monthly
data. I can expand or collapse the groups individually but clicking on the 1
or 2 at the head of the ouline fails and produces the error "Cannot shift
objects off sheet". I only have txt and figures (with formulae or cross
references) in cells. A macro which previously worked fine using outline
grouping now faults at this step with the same error.

Further to my reply. I have found one cell with a comment. This did not
produce a problem before, but removeing the comment has solved my problem.
See also another thread on this subject which gave me a clue. Thanks. No
reply needed to my post.
