Hello,

My question is regarding formatting dates in Excel 2000. I often download a
spreadsheet with a date column in the format 12/20/2007. This column
downloads in General format and I can format it as Date. However, I cannot
change how the date is displayed to 20-Dec-07. Is there anything that can be
done to fix this?

Thank you,

First make sure the value is a true date.  Reformat the cell to General and
you should see:

39436

Next:

Format > Cells... > Number > Custom > dd-mmm-yyyy
