In Excel 2007, if you try to Autofill long numbers, it only copies. If you
right-drag to get the pop-up menu, the "Fill Series" item is not available.
If you drop several digits, it works fine.

For Example:
556113010001
556113010002
556113010003

Will not Autofill, even though the series is well established.

However, if you use:
556113011
556113012
556113013

It works as expected.

Hi John,

1. It works just fine for me.  Make sure the step is set to 1.

2.  An alternative approach is the hold down the Ctrl key as you drag the
fill handle down with the left mouse button.

3.  Another alternative is to select the first two numbers and then drag the
fill handle without the Ctrl key.

Remember if these numbers are entered as text than these techniques fail for
you long numbers but not for shorter numbers.  Don't ask me why.

Cheers,
