MS Office Forum / Excel / Excel Errors / May 2008my excel shuts down when I try t o create a new book, what´s wron g
When I tried to create a new book, the excel application shuts down and closes itself. I did remove microsoft office ( home student version ) and reinstall the suite. I have updated the files in windows update. But still do not work.What is wrong? Power Point and word work just fine. Thank you for your help. Roberto Roberto What version do you have? Try searching for a file called *.xlb (Ensure you search for hidden files as this may be hidden), then delete it and Excel will create a new one. it is the toolbar customisation file that often gets corrupted.
