Is there any way around this error message, because I do
need a long formula ?

I've run into this before myself. The only work around I
could come up with was to break the formula up and move
part of it into another cell, with the original formula
referencing the new cell of course.

Not an ideal solution, but it works. I have then hidden
the column or row if I don't want to see the result of the
intermediate formula.

Hope this helps.
