I can create or access an excel file and then save the
file and exit excel.  Other users on our network can open
the file, but if they try to save it they get the
following error message.

----------------------------------------------------------

Your changes could not be saved to 'filename.xls' because
of a sharing violation.  Excel has created a temporary
file with you changes preserved, called 'B2C3D010'.  You
can save the temporary file as a new name or lose your
changes and all future changes.

Save temporary file            Lose all changes

----------------------------------------------------------

Any ideas on how to cure this?

Check my post on NOV 17 from me, GW about Windows XP and
Excel.

Hope this helps.  My e-mail is chalky@onet.co.uk so
please let me know.
