i was wondering if someone could help me with a problem. i need to creat a
lookup that returns more than 1 result, for example. if i have a table with
dan dave and duncan in, i can type d into a cell and it will bring up dan
dave and duncan, if i type in da it brings back dan and dave, etc. i will be
greatful to anyone who can help.

What result are you expecting? A lookup will return one consistent
value only.

Seems like what you probably want is an Autofilter on the table, and
then use the Custom 'begins with' on the name field and then enter
your text string to filter the table.
