eliminate partial content from the cell

hello,

I want to remove from one column with 700 cells some characters.For example,
in the cell i have: AABB1234567 and i want to eliminate BB; i try with ctrl+h
but i don't have a result.

What do you mean you "don't have a result"? What DOES happen?

Make sure "find entire cells" or "match entire cell contents" (under
Options) isn't checked.
