Can a conditional formatting result affect another cell or cells

Please can someone help/advise, I would like the result of the conditional
formatting affect other cell or cells other than the one where the condition
is typed.

You'll need to highlight all of the cells that are included in the condition
when you define the conditional formatting.   You may need to add or remove $
from the cell locations to make sure it works properly.
