Fill Colors

I want a cell to automatically fill with a specific color when I type in it.
Is there a formula for this - or function that I am missing.

Conditional formatting will do the trick

Format > Conditional Formatting
Cell Value Is       Not Equal To         =""
Then click on the 'format' button and choose the Font, Border and
Pattern that you want.
