I'm working in an excel spreadsheet that has a row of "1" and a column of "1"
resulting a cell being R1C1.  How do I change that be a row of "1" column of
"A"? And why wont it let me copy my formulas into other fields?

Tools>Options>General tab, Uncheck R1C1 Reference style
I don't know what you mean: "wont let me copy" What happens?
