I've looked and can't see if theres a way that you could automate a search so
that it would change a cell  reference.
I have a large sheet of thousand of customer ref. no. what I want to do is
create a reference cell or tool that I can type the ref. number into and it
would then add value in to the ref no. row so this could then be filtered to
show who had replied and who hasn't.
Doing a ctrl f and manually adding data is taking too long!
Thanks for looking

Have you considered using AUTOFILTER on your data.  It's a quick and easy way
to filter data.

Yes but not suitable, basically there is a 8 digit number that is unique to
each customer and then needs to be marked so that they do not recieve further
communique which involves maring the row with their details so it can be
filtered out. Ideally looking for an automatic way to do this than entering
numbers and indiviually marking those who replied off.
Thanks for taking time to reply though.

Hi,

One is to use the FORM at Data Menu. Here you can search the item using
CRITERIA and change the value in it.

Thanks

Shail
