I copied and pasted into excel the data that has rows and columns from web
page display in IE6. In excel I tried to sort by a column and I am getting
the display that says, "This operation requires the merged cells to be
identically sized." I noticed that I cannot expand a column to different
size. When I expand a column all the other columns expand to same size. How
can I sort by a column and expand columns in different size?

Thanks for your help.

Hi, Daniel. Likely, you need to select all the cells, then Format-->Cells,
Alignment tab and uncheck the merge cells box. After that, you can
troubleshoot any other issues. See:

if it still won't sort right.

Daniel, Anne is right but not specific enough. There is a cell that is merged
within your spreadsheet and you can't have any merged items in order to sort.
After you have corrected your merge problem, highlight the spreadsheet and
sort it like you want it.
