MS Office Forum / Excel / Worksheet Functions / February 2007I did the ABS function for the + and - sum
I entered the suggested ABS function (thank you!) and it worked on those columns that have a consistent - or + on the number but the columns that have mixed signs show "#value" instead of the sum total of the numbers......any suggestions? ABS will return a #Value if it is referencing something other than a number such as an ascii string 1) Check to make sure there isn't a ' in front of any cells that have numbers. These will be treated as text. 2) highlight the box that is giving the error. Look for the square box with the !.
