Page & Chart Numbering

Howdy-

Here's what I have:

17 tabs in a workbook (8 tabs are worksheets [with single print areas]
and 9 tabs are charts.)

Here's what I seek:

1) a footer macro that will place text on the right- - -on ALL 17
pages (I have not found a macro that will foot my 9 charts in addition
to my 8 spreadsheets. I am beginning to believe that manually footing
each chart is the only way. . . is it?)

2) a footer macro that will number my worksheets AND charts in their
existing tab order 1 thru 17. (The macros I have used have resulted in
numbering each worksheet '1'.  Even though this was not my goal, the
macros did nothing to my charts!)

Here's one more question:  In page break preview, "page 1" appears on
tab 1in the print area.  That seems reasonable.  Why does "page 1"
also appear in the print areas of each of my other 7 tabs?

I have learned much from my search for a solution, but now I must
post.

Many thanks for your input.

I was surprised to find that (in Excel 2003, at least) selecting all the
worksheets and chart sheets and setting a footer applied it only to the
worksheets.  However, selecting JUST THE CHARTS and setting a footer applies
the footer to all of them.

So...If you follow those two steps - selecting all of each sheet type,
setting the footer for those, then selecting all of the other and setting the
same footer, you'll get what you want.

HOWEVER, to get all the pages to print with the correct numbers you must
either use File-Print-Entire workbook  or select ALL the tabbed sheets and
then print.

Duke:
You're the man!
Who'd think that one must select only the charts as a group to head or
foot them?
Thanks for your feedback.
