When I click, with mouse, it sometimes selects more than one cell, usually
2/3 cells below as well.
How do I stop it doing this?

Sounds like you may have a resolution problem or a zoom problem. Try
adjusting both.

This behavior also happens to me, but has only happened in Excel 2007 and
only seems to happen on cells where I have used the Merge and Center - MERGE
ACROSS feature.  Selecting with the cursor or tab doesn't select multiple
cells.  Do you have a similar experience?

Back a few years ago there was a similar problem in Excel XP (2002/2003) and
the problem was caused by the mouse driver.  Updating the mouse driver fixed
the problem back then.  I am using a Microsoft Explorer trackball mouse and
just updated the mouse driver.  If this fixes the problem, I'll post back.
