Hi,
Patterns and shading work fine on my machine -
1. What version of Excel are you using?
2. When you say they don't appear in the worksheet but do in the View mode,
what exactly do you mean. What view mode - Normal, Page Layout, Page Break
Preview, Print Preview, Full Screen?
3. When you apply a pattern are you also applying a color different from the
Fill color?
4. What is the Zoom factor on your screen? 10%? 400%?, 100%?

Hi Shane,
I am using Excel in Office 2003, I don't know how to determine my zoom
factor. I did not zoom in or out, just normal.
I am trying to shade certain cells in my spreadsheet. The shading does not
appear on the spreadsheet but is seen when I do a preview of the page or if I
do a print preview.

Check this out................

The fill color, the fill pattern, or the line color of a WordArt or
AutoShape object in an Office document does not change
As directed, change the High Contrast setting in Windows OS
