I am trying to hide many columns in a large Excel file. A dialogue box
appears stating: Cannot move objects off sheet. The box prevents me from
hiding any columns. All filters, formatting, hidden panes, frozen panes, etc.
are turned off.

Any objects like Data Validation dropdowns or Comments?

See this KB Article for possible clues and fixes.

right click on the column u want to hide. make sure u right click on the top
(meaning the letter) u can select many by pressing the CTRL key. and there
should be a hide and unhide that u can select.

hope that helps!
