Issues with Mailto: function

I apologize if this has been discussed before, but I'm in a time crunch and
no time to look back through the archives.

I have an excel spreadsheet (office 2000), in which alot of data is imported
from an access database. One of which fields is an email address (i.e.,
xxxx@xxx.xxx). When imported the Mailto: link is not generated. If cell is
activated and enter or tab key is struck the mailto function generates
perfectly.

Question: Is there a way I can force these email addresses to generate
mailto links without having to enter each cell?

Any help appreciated,
thanks

Hi Bev,
Hmmm,  looks like a search might have been faster.

On my site
 http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/buildtoc.htm#MakeHyperlinks
will do that.

Same as reentering but may be faster than what you are doing
to reenter an individual cell is to use  F2 then Enter

If not familiar with installing using macros see my getstarted.htm  page.
