Hello,
In the office I have several hundred excel spreadsheets & many of these are
linked.
The problem that I am having is that all of the files are on a shared drive.
Four of the users are accessing the file server with a direct unc path to
the server, but there is one who is using it via DFS (Directory File
System).
The problem will be when we move these files onto another server (which we
are planning).
Is there a way of updating the linked worksheets without opening every
spreadsheet? If I am correct the system will automatically replace the links
on files that are in the same folder?
Thanks,
Matt

You are correct that no action should be needed for files which link to files
in the same folder.
Having moved the files to their new location, if there are files whose links
need to be changed, I can email you a utility to help you achieve that.
To request it, email me at Bill_Manville @ compuserve.com(without the spaces)
