could anyone tell me how to work this graph out on excel 2007? thanks in

I'm not sure if this what you're shooting for.  You can make the 'Y' axis a
logarithmic scale by:
-- right-click on the axis
-- click 'format axis'
-- select the 'scale' tab
-- click 'Logarithmic scale'
