I type in 0987 in the top bar and yet I press enter the number in the row
cell shows 987 and the top bar no longer has the zero.

I looked at format and i have tried number , general, custom etc -- HOw to
get the zero and all four digits to show?

Thanks
Mike

Mike

Format as text and it will stay or lead with a single apostrophe. (It will
not show) or if the numbers are all four digits long format it via
Format>Cells...>Custom and enter 0000 (the number below will still actually
be the number without the leading zero, but the display will be fine.
