I'm creating a document in excel and have stumbled on how to type in a cell
as follows:
1.1     jdkjfkdla
1.2     djak;jfd
1.3     jlkajfl

Is there anyway i can do this

Excel is a spreadsheet program. It does not have wordproecessing features.
You could insert a Word document into the worksheet with Insert | Object

Type in 1.1   ksjdhfgrytth  then Alt + Enter to get an in-cell linefeed.

Type in 1.2   qwertyuiop  then Alt + Enter

When done hit Enter key alone.
