sum total - not changing?

i feel like a complete idiot,, it has been some time since ive used exel, but
i swear that i remember that this worked... i have a column of numbers that
ive autosummed,, why doesnt the autosum change when i change one or any of
the numbers in that column?

Does it re-calculate if you hit the F9 key?

Tools>Options>Calculation.  Perhaps you have it set for Manual?
