my sort command is not active (grayed out) Most likely your worksheet is protected. Click on Tools|Protection and then on Unprotect Sheet > my sort command is not active (grayed out) Tools - Protection - Protect Sheet is also grayed out. You normally can't sort protected worksheets. If you click on Tools|Protection, do you have as a last option Protect Shared Workbook, which is not grayed out? If so, the workbook is shared. > Is the worksheet protected? If you click on Tools|Protection, do : you have as a last option Protect Shared Workbook, which is not grayed out?
