Not sure if this will help but if you open an excel workbook while it's on
the USB drive and work on it and save, that could explain errors, sometimes
it's not even possible to open the file. Always use the CD/flashdrive/floppie
just to copy to and transport excel files, then copy it over to the computer
and do the work there.

thanks very much mr peo sjoblom for the help,by the way I had lots of
hyperlinks on the worksheet .could that be also one of the causes for
generating error. The worksheet was about 3 MB.thats why I had to go for the
USB stick instead of the floppy and my office computer does not have a cd
burner installed. thanks a lot any how for the advice
