I use a PC with office 2000 and have recently acquired a laptop for use on
hols etc, the laptop has Microsoft works Spreadsheet already installed. I
dont want to go and use up unnecessary harddrive space so are the 2 systems
compatible should I need to transfer one to the other? I use ( simple)
spreadsheets quite a lot and would probab;y want to take copies of some of
them with me when going on hols.

thanks

You can save Works Spreadsheet files in Excel format
You can open Excel files in Works Spreadsheet BUT (1) you get only one sheet
at a time and (2) many Excel features are disabled.
So while there is some compatibility for all practical purposes you will
need Excel on the laptop.
You will need to buy a copy
happy new year

Further to my previous post (above) I take it that there is no issues with
`uninstalling` Microsoft works first, before I install Office XP.
