Does this happen with all workbooks or just one? If the latter, maybe there
is some event code behind the sheet. On the tab name, right-click and
select View Code from the menu, if you see some code delete it.

The problem was to do with the high contrast setting, but thanks for your

If the high contrast setting is turned on you won't see the font colour.
