Trying to learn Excel basic using on-line training. During sessions, some
instructions work on my practice worksheets, some do not. Want to be able to
do all instructions to learn excel.

We have no idea how to help you from your brief description of your problem.

Post the URL of the training website.

This one?

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training/CR061831141033.aspx

or perhaps some third-party site?

Or at least type in some examples of stuff that doesn't work.  It may be
something as simple as not having an Add-In active - the Analysis Pak is one
that is often referred to that isn't available right after an Excel
installation.

Other possibilities are that you've made a typo that you just are not
seeing.  And I've seen examples that were incorrect when presented to the
student also - that's where seeing the training site will help.
