If I have a list of names (Last in one column, First in another) and fax
numbers can excel compare and update or flag the numbers that changed or
names who are not on the on the first list and also flag new names?

Excel 2000 but could use 2003.

Thanks,
Linda

You say "compare".  You also say you have "a list".  What do you want
Excel to compare this list to?  Do you have another list?  You also say
"update".  Do you have a master list and you want to update some other list
from the master list?  HTH  Otto

Otto,

Thanks for helping me organize my question a little better.  Yes, I would
have another list with the same fields.  This is a list of physicians in the
area.  We have the infomation entered but know many physicians change fax
numbers, move etc....I am hoping to find a service that updates this info
monthly and hopefully they can send the list in excel.  However, after
typing this out and thinking about it, we should probably just replace the
old list with the new one.  HA!  done...thanks a million!

Thanks, Ron.  After replying to the above response, I decided to replace my
list with the new one but this article will come in very handy for some
other things on my To Do pile.
