Hi,
I'm trying to format a cell to enter the date i.e. 6/12/06 dd/mm/yy
but when I format it custom dd/mm/yy it shows up as 11/03/40?

Is the cell already populated? I'm thinking yes. The current entry is not a
date, Try retyping after format. There is a date format like you want, no
need to custom format.
