help with excel

when i put in figures into cells and want to count how many there are how do
i do this. for example: 1;2;3;4;5;6;7 would be there are 7 at the end of the
cell.

=COUNT(A1:A7) for numbers
=COUNTA(A1:A7) for all entries (numbers, dates, text, etc)
