Hi, this is my first post. I have a workbook containing several sheets. I
went to rename one of them, and the data disappeared. I got out without
saving and it came back, but I then seem to have hit the incorrect button
because now it appears to be really gone.
I'm pretty sure it can be recovered, but I don't know how to do it. I'd
hate to have to recreate....

It may just be hidden. Click "Format/ Sheet/Unhide" to see if the sheet is
listed. If so, highlight it and click OK.

Hi, thanks for your response. I'm struggling with Excel2007, but to the best
of my knowledge my worksheet hasn't gone anyplace else. Ir wasn't hidden,
and isn't anyplace else within the workbook--or on the worksheet for that
matter. think I need to recreate?
thanks...hannahp

What steps did you take to "rename" the sheet?
If you right-clicked on the sheet tab and meant to "Rename" maybe you hit the
"Move or Copy" selection and moved the sheet to another workbook?
Or you hid it under Format>Sheet>Hide
