wmf graphics distort when printing

I am importing a WMF graphic into Excel 2002. All looks
fine on screen, but when I print or print-preview, the
graphic has been distorted (squashed top to bottom).

This same graphic works OK in Word.
The grapic properties (size etc.) look normal.
I am printing at 100%
It makes no difference if the graphic is placed in the
header or in the sheet.

Any suggestions?

I don't know about WMF, but aspect ratio problems have sometimes been sorted
in the past using these methods:

You may get some joy out of them but I'm not all that optimistic.

Sadly, you were correct in not being optimistic - have
tried copying and pasting the graphic, but without success.
