I am having a problem printing spreadsheets in Excel. Every time I try to
print, Excel reduces the printing area to the upper left hand quarter of the
page, despite the fact that the print preview is the normal full page. All
of my settings seem correct. Has anyone has this problem before. I would
appreciate it if someone could email me a reply.

Thanks

You'll have to look here in the ng for answers, David. Sorry for the
inconvenience...

Have you File>Print Area>Set Print Area? If not, try that and see if it'll
work better

Thanks for the quick reply. That didn't work. It still only prints the
spreadsheet to one quarter of its size.

Have you checked the driver settings to make sure you haven't selected
something daft like having four pages print on one sheet?

If you print a two-page file, does it print them on separate pages (each 1/4
size) or does it print them side by side on one page (each1/4 size)?

Let's say I'm printing a six page file. The print preview displays all six
pages as they should be, i.e., each page taking up the full 8x11 space.
However, when I print I get six pages where each one has shrunk down the
printing area to the top left quarter of the page. The driver is set to
default (one page per sheet).

I thought you'd say that, but it was worth a try...

I will now revert to my questions I use when I don't have the answer:
Is it something that recently started happening or have you never tried
before?
Presumably other Office programs print okay?
Paul's Psychic Prediction: you have an HP printer, don't you?
If so, have you tried using older versions of the drivers? This seems to
have been the most successful method of solving all sorts of printing probs
with Excel & HP printers.
If you have access to another printer, does that print the files properly?
(At least then you can eliminate it being an Excel setting, although I can't
imagine what the Excel setting would be even if it is that).

That worked. HP drivers are terrible. Nothing but problems for me.
